Fr. Andrew Rowell
Fr. Andrew Rowell is delighted to be the second Rector of Christchurch Montgomery. He has a passion for preaching and teaching God’s Word and for sending the church out into the world to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. Prior to becoming Rector of Christchurch, Andrew was Associate Rector for Evangelism & Discipleship (2012-15) and Associate Rector for Youth & Families (2008-12) at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Tallahassee, Florida. Andrew received his undergraduate degree from Duke University (1995), his law degree from the University of Virginia (1999), and his Masters of Divinity from the Duke University Divinity School (2008). In his prior professional life, Andrew served as a homeless shelter manager, a speechwriter for the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, and a tax attorney at Hogan & Hartson, LLP in Washington, D.C. Fr. Andrew is married to Miriam “Mimi” Suber Rowell, who is a Critical Care Registered Nurse. Andrew and Mimi have a son.

Damon Gibbs

Fr. Damon L. Gibbs
Associate Rector   
Fr. Damon Gibbs is honoured to serve as the Associate Rector of Christchurch Montgomery. He enjoys serving the people of Christchurch in various ways, equipping them to be effective witnesses in the world, and explaining the beauty of liturgical worship with those who are new to Anglicanism. Fr. Damon is a native of Georgia, has been married to Catherine for twelve years, and together they have two children: Mary Arden and Henry Holden. He holds degrees from The University of Georgia (A.B.) and Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div.). Fr. Damon was ordained to the Diaconate at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in January of 2014, and to the Priesthood within the Gulf Atlantic Diocese on October 24, 2015. Prior to joining Christchurch Montgomery, he served as a full-time chaplain with Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida, and as a co-director of The Shadetree Group, a community development ministry in Gretna, Florida. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Fr. Damon enjoys the beach, playing golf, watching movies, and reading most anything related to Great Britain and the American South.

Thomas Bowers
Music Ministry 
Thomas Bowers was appointed Music Director of Christchurch in 2015. He has a love for early music, particularly its role in the spiritual life of the Church throughout history and its unique ability to connect people with their creator. Thomas received his BA in Music and Philosophy from FSU, and his MA in Harpsichord Performance from the Longy School of Music in Massachusetts, where he worked as a church music director and harpsichord builder. He is a founding member of the Baroque ensemble Incendium Novum. Thomas lives in Montgomery with his wife, Kellie, who is a historical archaeologist.

Ben Cheney
Student Ministry
Ben joined Christchurch in January of 2015 as Student Minister. Before coming to Christchurch, Ben interned in Student Ministries at Frazer United Methodist Church, Aldersgate United Methodist church, and First Methodist Church of Millbrook.  Ben is from Dothan, Alabama.  He earned his B.A. degree in History and Religion from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, and his M.S. in History from the University of Birmingham in Alabama.  Ben is married to Jordy Allen Cheney.  Ben's desire is to see students live their lives according to the Gospel and develop a strong personal relationships with Jesus Christ.

Cindy McLaughlin
Children's Ministry

Cindy joined the staff as the Children’s Ministry assistant in December 2011 and became the Director of Children’s Ministry in May of 2013. She oversees Christian education for nursery-aged children through 6th grade, teaches in the Level II Atrium, helps with puppet team and coordinates events such as Vacation Bible School, Gift of Hope, Harvest Fest, The Giving Tree, and the annual Christmas pageant.

Katherine Trock
Director of Outreach & Missions 
Assistant Director of Children's Ministries

Katherine joined the Christchurch staff in July of 2016 after returning to Montgomery after living in NYC for 15 years. As Assistant Director of Children's Ministry, she assists Cindy in Christian Education for children through 6th grade where she is involved as a teacher and with special events. Katherine is also Director of Missions and Outreach where she works with both local and international partners to spread the Light of Christ and helping those in need.

Marty joined our staff in May of 2005, having previously served in a similar capacity at the Church of the Ascension. Her responsibilities include all church related financial matters, activity scheduling, church mailings, supervision of custodial staff and other duties assigned by the Rector.
