Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me. ~ John 14:6
Everyone – Christians and seekers, those baptized and those who’ve never been to church – are welcome to worship and grow with us. For those who find that they want to commit their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and become full adult members of Christchurch, the information page is provided below. If you have any questions or wish to explore what the good Lord may have in mind for you at Christchurch, please contact the church office and make an appointment with the Rector or one of our clergy.
Anyone who has been previously baptized in the name of the Trinity – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - and who will stand with us and reaffirm the words of the Nicene Creed on Sunday, can become a baptized member of Christchurch – it’s that simple! What was good enough for the early Christians should be good enough for us.
Letters of Transfer
At the same time, those who wish to join the Christchurch family, and have formerly been members of another church, can request from their former congregation a formal Letter of Transfer. You can contact our church office to facilitate this transfer. A membership form is available in the parish office or may be downloaded here. Completing this form will insure that you are placed on our mailing list. Membership Letter/Transfer form.
The ancient tradition of the Church required that a believer not only be baptized but that his or her baptism included a confirmation of those vows before a Bishop of the church. To become a full adult member of Christchurch, you will need to be Confirmed before our Bishop or received by him, if you have previously been confirmed by a bishop in apostolic succession. Bishop +Neil Lebhar normally visits Christchurch several times a year and those who wish to confirm their baptismal vows may do so in his presence.
Time, Talent and Treasure
Our intention at Christchurch is to keep the standard high for all Christians, which means that membership includes a healthy sense of stewardship for all members. In turn, this means a giving our money for the work of God’s kingdom. The biblical standard of the Tithe (10%) or a practical system of proportionate giving that grows toward tithing is the established minimum standard at Christchurch. What you do with what you have says much about who you are!
All members of God’s family are expected to make an annual, prayerful commitment of material and monetary resources, along with a commitment of talents and time, to the mission of Christ in the parish and in the world. The Lord Jesus Christ has no one else but us to carry on His work.
At Christchurch, we believe that just as God has invested His great love in our lives, so He rightfully expects a return on His investment. How tragic if the Lord has counted on us and we prove unfaithful.
To be a member of Christchurch is say to God: “Yours to count on!”
